Religious Affiliations:

Louis Farrakhan

– is leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI), which is viciously racist against whites and particularly Jews. He has gone so far as to characterize white people as the “anti-Christ”. In 1995 Obama along with the likes of Al Sharpton and Jeremiah Wright, helped organize Farrakhan’s famous Million Man March in Washington, DC. Obama’s comments in the wake of that event echo some of the sentiment that Farrakhan espouses:

“What I saw was a powerful demonstration of an impulse and need for African-American men to come together to recognize each other and affirm our rightful place in the society…. Historically, African-Americans have turned inward and towards black nationalism whenever they have a sense, as we do now, that the mainstream has rebuffed us, and that white Americans couldn’t care less about the profound problems African-Americans are facing.”

Farrakhan is a long-time friend of Jeremiah Wright, who was Barack Obama’s pastor and mentor at Trinity United Church of Christ from 1988 to 2008. Jeremiah Wright has praised Farrakhan, as well as traveled with him in 1984 to meet with Farrakhan’s friend, the Libyan dictator Muammar Qadhafi. Sharing ideologies with Farrakhan is close friend and Obama’s spiritual adviser, Michael Pfleger.

Rev. Joseph Lowery

– is a prominent figure in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, a leftist activist organization. Lowery asserts that white racism towards blacks is rampant, and should be confronted. Lowery is contemptuous of Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas, spouting that he is a traitor to the black race. Obama appointed him as a member of the campaign’s African American Religious Leadership Committee.

James Meeks

– has been a Democratic member of the Illinois state senate since 2002. He is also the pastor of Chicago’s 22,000-member Salem Baptist Church, and he has served as an executive vice president for Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow/PUSH coalition; that has had connections with the Communist Party of USA – CPUSA. Meeks is strongly racist, having compared white politicians to slave masters from the pulpit. He is also strongly opposed to homosexuality, having sponsored staged a dramatic Halloween fright night skit where two homosexuals are thrown into the flames of hell. Besides serving as a colleague of Obama in the Illinois Senate from 2002 – 2004 (after which Obama went to Washington), the two have been close ally. Obama frequently campaigned at Salem Baptist Church, in 2003 and 2004. Meeks appeared in TV ads, and was personally selected by Obama to endorse him in a 2004 radio ad. Obama attended Salem Baptist Church for prayer and to return thanks, the day after winning his primary race in 2004. Obama has stated that Meeks is a spiritual adviser. Meeks was a super delegate for Obama in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Rev. Otis Moss

– served as assistant pastor of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC). Moss preaches that America is a nation infested with racism. He has implied that whites are the “enemy” of African Americans. Moss is a great admirer of Rev. Michael Pfleger. Besides have Obama as a congregant, Obama has appointed him to his African American Religious Leadership Committee.

Rev. Michael Pfleger

– is a white Catholic priest who has been the pastor of Saint Sabina Catholic Church in Chicago since 1981. He characterizes America as infested with racism, and that this racism is the number one problem with America. Phleger states that he was educated by the radical 1960’s group Black Panthers. Phleger maintains a close friendship with Louis Farrakhan. Pfleger has repeatedly defended Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam and has impugned Jewish critics of that organization for their “narrowness” of mind. In summarizing the numerous events and details about Phleger, my observation is that he would use the pulpit as a platform for political agitation, and cultivating racist angst. He had a history of flaunting the laws of the Catholic church that clearly stated that only priests were allowed to preach (ie Harry Belafonte, Louis Farrakhan ). Obama has been friends with Phleger since the 1980’s, and has acted as a spiritual adviser to Obama. Obama secured earmarks for St Sabina; $225,000 while he was State Senator, and an additional $100,000 in federal money after he was elected to US Senator. Obama’s campaign featured Pfleger’s enthusiastic endorsement on its website. Obama was forced politically to denounce the following comments by Pfleger when they were widely aired.

“It’s like saying to a woman who’s been repeatedly raped over, and over, and over, and over, over, and over [and telling her] ‘you need to get over it.’ ‘The HELL I do,’ [she would say]. Get the sucker who’s been raping me and make him pay.’ Well, America has been raping people of color, and America has to pay the price. America has to pay the price for the rape.”

“We must be honest enough to expose white entitlement and supremacy wherever it raises its head…. [W]hen Hillary was crying, and people said that was put on, I really don’t believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought, ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white. And this is mine. I just got to get up and step into the plate.’ And then out of nowhere came, ‘hey, I’m Barack Obama.’ And she said, ‘Oh damn, where did you come from? I’m white. I’m entitled. There’s a black man stealing my show.'” Pfleger then mimicked Mrs. Clinton crying as the audience gave him a standing ovation. Added Pfleger: “She wasn’t the only one crying. There was a whole lot of white people cryin’.”

Rev. Al Sharpton

– is a Racial agitator and Founder of the National Action Network, whose platform “revolves around activism against racial profiling, police brutality, women’s issues, economic reform, public education, international affairs, including abolishing slavery in Africa, job awareness, AIDS awareness, and more.” Sharpton is renowned for his racially charged, incendiary rhetoric. Sharpton was first known for his slander in the case of Tawana Brawley, who had alleged that she had been assaulted by a gang of white men. The case was characterized by outrageous claims by Sharpton and Tawana’s lawyers, that were made completely without evidence. These claims culminated in slanderous accusations against Steve Pagones, the Duchess County assistant prosecutor. These were found to be completely without basis, but left Pagone’s life destroyed. Sharpton to this day has not paid the damages settlement for the libel suit brought against him. Sharpton has used his National Action Network to fan anti-semitic hatred. In 1991, after an accident where a Hasidic Jew had hit and killed a seven year old boy, Within hours blacks hunted down and killed an innocent, rabbinical student, Yankel Rosenbaum. Sharpton pronounced publicly that it had not been an accident but “the social accident of apartheid.” Sharpton organized angry demonstrations and fueled by further anti-semite rhetoric black rioters raged for three days. Similarly in 1995, Sharpton used his National Action Network to boycott a Jewish business. The boycott ended when one of his members shot and killed four whites in the store and then setting fire to the building, killing seven employees. Sharpton has been a featured speaker at the Socialist Scholars Conference, which is held each year by the City University of New York‘s chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. Obama sought Sharpton’s endorsement for the 2008 campaign. Sharpton claims that he speaks with Obama two to three times a week.

Jim Wallis

– is an activist preacher and the founder of the publication Sojourners. He has been a long time champion of communism. Wallis has attempted to completely exculpate the Khmer Rouge for the genocide of millions of Indo-Chinese peasants. Instead Wallis attempted to shift blame to the US for these atrocities. Wallis is avidly Marxist, expecting that Christians should view the world through Marxist eyes. Fiercely opposed to free markets, he characterizes America as the source of evil around the world. While speaking at a Sojourners-sponsored Call to Renewal Conference, Barack Obama called Wallis “his friend.”

Rev. Jeremiah Wright

– was the pastor of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) from March 1972 until February 2008. “Wright embraces the tenets of black liberation theology, which seeks to foment Marxist revolutionary fervor founded on racial rather than class solidarity.” Wright has become well-known for his vitriolic diatribes against white America, through which he asserted that America is wholly racist.

Wright has a close friendship also with Louis Farrakhan. Barack Obama has had an intimate, spiritual mentor, relationship with Wright since he joined TUCC. Wright officiated his marriage, baptized his chidlren, and gave spiritual counsel before announcing his candidacy for president in 2007. Wright was named as a member of the Obama campaign’s African American Religious Leadership Committee, but was made to step down after tapings of his sermons were widely broadcast.
